This is an original painting (watercolour and ink on paper) of the view from Gaudí’s Parc Güell across Barcelona to the sea in the distance. When I was studying Spanish at school I chose to do one of my exam presentations on Gaudí. I love how you can clearly see nature’s influence in the organic forms and curves that characterise his work, and of course the wonderful colours! I admire the incredible skill behind his creations but also the fact that he wasn’t afraid to break the mould and make something different. I’ve been to Barcelona many times and this park is one of my favourite places.
